South African first for Ascendis26 September 2017 Lee-Ann HerbstAscendis Health recently hosted the first ever launch event for PCA Skin in South Africa, to mark its official distributorship of the brand.At the event held at The Saxon in Johannesburg, Leigh-Ann Herbst, MD of the Skin & Body Division of Ascendis Health, said that PCA Skin is targeted at the advanced aesthetic market. “PCA stands for Physicians Care Alliance and the brand is all about healthy skin and not tested on animals. From Ascendis’ point of view, we are very excited to be in a partnership with PCA Skin.”Heidi Cerfontyne, educator for Ascendis Health Skin Division, explained that PCA Skin is headquartered in Arizona , USA, and was founded in 1990 by an aesthetician and developed by a dermatologist.“PCA is grounded in three core pillars: product innovation, excellence in education and unparalleled customer support. There are 14 different treatments available in the PCA catalogue, of which 12 are available in South Africa. “The brand was the first to develop modified and enhanced Jessner’s Peels, where you see the improvement in the health and appearance of skin. They have enhanced it with additional resurfacing ingredients and offer results-oriented, blended chemical peels.
