The Brow Bar launches 5th store3 July 2017 Unaiza MoideenUnaiza Moideen, founder of The Brow Bar franchise, officially launched her 5th store on 29 June at The Firs Rosebank in Johannesburg. As The Brow Bar is an official sponsor to the Miss South African Competition, the event was attended by the current title holder, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, and Miss South Africa 2016, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene.“The Brow Bar franchise started off as a threading kiosk in the Clearwater Mall Shopping Centre several years ago,” said Moideen. “The demand was so high that I opened a store there and the brand just grew and grew. I’m planning to launch my sixth store in September, this time in Bedfordview.“As a business, The Brow Bar franchise places enormous emphasis on empowerment and upliftment. We have a three-month long training programme that is a paid learnership for young girls without qualifications, as school leavers don’t know anything about the work place or professionalism. I’m proud to say that a former trainee is now a manager in one of our stores.”Apart from Clearwater Mall and The Firs, The Brow Bar has stores in Mall of the South, Menlyn Mall and La Lucia Mall. The Brow Bar at The Firs Rosebank reflects the franchise’s new design, a more luxurious looking salon with deep purple walls, gold framed mirrors and draped curtains.Moideen also used the event to introduce two new brands, LoLa Brows, a long lasting eyebrow tint that lasts three weeks, and Elleebana, an Australian express eye lash system that treats and ‘lifts’ the natural lashes. It is performed on the client while her eyes remain open. (Report by Joanna Sterkowicz)
